3D concrete printing as a design statement at Dutch Design Week 2025

When you think of 3D concrete printing, you might first think of technology and construction—but during the Dutch Design Week from October 18th to 26th in Eindhoven, we will show that it is also a source of creativity and aesthetics. Our printed objects can be admired as outdoor furniture and as playful, functional concrete blocks. Be surprised by the freedom of form, seating comfort, and many possibilities of 3D-printed concrete in a design context.

UrbanComfort: designer furniture from the concrete printer

Outdoor furniture in the city must be able to withstand rough handling. It must be robust, low-maintenance, and resistant to weather and handling. But above all, it must be attractive and comfortable.

Together with architect Mathieu Bruls, we developed UrbanComfort: a furniture line made of 3D-printed concrete that seamlessly combines design, comfort, durability, and outdoor use. From chairs to benches, tables, and seating elements—each object is designed with an eye for aesthetics and sturdiness. Thanks to the printing technique, organic shapes and color variations can be achieved.

Curious? During Dutch Design Week, the collection will be on display at several locations. Come and try it out and be surprised.

Bears on the road? Yes, please!

Sometimes it is necessary to block off parts of the city for safety, peace, or routing reasons. This is often done with boring concrete blocks—functional, but not very inspiring.

Design studio mo man tai wondered: couldn't this be done better? The result: 3D-printed concrete bears developed in collaboration with us. Sturdy enough to keep traffic out, but with a friendly appearance that enlivens the environment. A powerful example of how 3D concrete printing offers design freedom, contributes to smart and sustainable urban design, and enhances safety.

Where to see them?
During Dutch Design Week, the bears can be seen at the following locations:

  • 18 Septemberplein (on the station side)
  • outside Domusdela (Kanaalstraat 4)
  • Sectie-C (Daalakkersweg 2 to 14)

Come and see how concrete comes to life.
