What is the Top Employer certification?

Top Employer is an international certification program that evaluates organizations on their HR practices. It is conducted by the Top Employers Institute, the global authority on people practices and outstanding employer conditions.

  • More than 2,400 organizations across 125 countries/regions are certified.
  • Only 17 organizations worldwide achieve the Global Top Employer level.
  • Saint-Gobain is proudly part of this select group.
  • Within the Group, 40 countries hold the certification.

Together, these organizations help create positive working conditions for over 13 million employees worldwide.

How does the certification process work?

To earn the Top Employer label, companies undergo a detailed assessment covering 6 domains and 20 topics, including:

  • HR strategy
  • Work environment
  • Wellbeing
  • Compensation & benefits
  • Learning & development
  • Diversity & inclusion

Each topic includes 10 to 30 questions and requires solid evidence resulting in more than 250 HR best practices being reviewed. All HR teams within Saint-Gobain contribute to this extensive process.
The results are then validated by the Top Employers Institute and verified through an independent external audit, ensuring complete objectivity
