Project highlight: Outdoor classroom 'De Expeditie' in Arnhem
In April 2023, together with Bureau RIS, we created an innovative outdoor classroom and stage on the green-blue playground of De Expeditie elementary school in Arnhem. The 3D printed concrete seating elements are both functional and educational: children can see the printing layers up close, getting a glimpse into modern technology. The lightweight design eliminated the need for expensive foundations, saving costs compared to traditional concrete. Plus, the printing technique allowed for creative shapes like a waffle pattern.
