3D-printed slope stairs at dike house in Heinenoord
At a dike house in Heinenoord, we delivered a fully customized 3D‑printed slope stairs, installed against a newly constructed concrete retaining wall. The combination of printed concrete with a hardwood frame creates a high‑quality, characterful appearance that blends seamlessly into the dike landscape. For the contractor, this is already the second 3D‑printed slope stairway they have chosen to use — a clear confirmation of their confidence in this efficient and sustainable solution.
Our contribution: customization, efficiency, and sustainability
The stairway was delivered as a complete, ready‑to‑install product, allowing it to be hoisted and mounted immediately. This minimized on‑site time and enabled an exceptionally efficient installation. As with all our 3D‑printed stairways, this embankment stair contains no reinforcement and requires approximately 50% less concrete compared to traditionally manufactured stairways. This significantly reduces both material use and CO₂ emissions — making it a genuinely sustainable choice.
A distinctive end result
The smooth, layered texture of the 3D‑printed concrete, combined with the warmth of the hardwood detailing, gives the stairway a unique and premium appearance. The result is a functional and aesthetically appealing addition to the property, perfectly aligned with the natural contours of the slope.
