Organic shapes give the boulevard a natural character
The Duin district is a new residential area with around 3,000 homes, set in a landscape of dunes, beach, and forest. The organically shaped seating elements along the boulevard seamlessly follow the natural contours of the surroundings and enhance the coastal character of the area.
Thanks to 3D concrete printing technology, a wide variety of designs can be realized with ease. For these sixteen benches, the organic shapes were produced quickly and efficiently. Since the Municipality of Almere opted for a smooth finish, the benches were coated with a plaster layer after installation.
