3D-printed slopestairs for bus transferium Andel

After seeing several 3D-printed slope stairs, the municipality of Altena contacted 3D.Weber to explore the possibilities. Key reasons for this choice were the short delivery time, the ability to design a tailor-made staircase, the sustainable execution, and the lower weight of the prefab staircase. The latter reduces the risk of settlement compared to traditional concrete steps. Based on these advantages, the municipality decided that a 3D-printed slope stair was the most suitable solution.

The project was realized through close cooperation between the municipality of Altena, 3D.Weber, and Van der Plas Civiel B.V. The stairs consist of three elements and has a total length of nine meters, a height of 4.37 meters, and a width of two meters. It was delivered at the beginning of June and installed a few days later. Thanks to good coordination and planning, the stairs could be safely and sustainably installed and put into immediate use.
