3D printed slope stair for the Netherlands’ largest urban beach

On May 15, 2025, the grand opening of the Netherlands' largest urban beach took place in the municipality of Hoorn. A prominent access point to this new recreational area is a 3D-printed slope stair, realized in record time. Just three weeks before the opening, 3D.Weber was approached by the municipality with the request to deliver and install a custom stair. Thanks to our advanced concrete printing technology and efficient workflow, we were the only party able to successfully complete this challenge within the set timeframe.

The slope stair, composed of five elements each two meters wide, bridges a height of 4.2 meters and has a total length of nearly ten meters. The project highlights the added value of 3D concrete printing in infrastructure: fast turnaround times, design flexibility, and sustainable execution. We proudly look back on our contribution to this striking feature that provides residents and visitors with a direct connection between the city, beach, and water.
