On Friday, April 30, 2021, the first residents of the 3D concrete-printed home in Eindhoven received the key. We proudly present the first of the five homes of ‘Project Milestone’ to the outside world. Unique is that the project partners have realized a house with their own design, thanks to extensive research and development aimed at unlocking the design freedom of concrete printing. Project Milestone is a joint construction and innovation project of Eindhoven University of Technology, Van Wijnen, Saint-Gobain Weber Beamix, Vesteda, the municipality of Eindhoven and Witteveen+Bos.

At the same time, this new technique contributes to the necessary sustainability of the construction sector, acceleration of construction production and control of construction costs, essential to continue building affordable homes.”

The house is a detached single-storey house with a net floor area of 94 square meters, a spacious living room and two bedrooms, in the Bosrijk district in Eindhoven. The house is shaped like a large boulder. That fits well with the natural location and nicely shows the freedom of form that 3D concrete printing offers.
