Sustainable and smart: 3D-printed slope stair at Dijksgracht

In the heart of Amsterdam, where infrastructure and greenery intersect, a solid and well-designed slope stair has been installed as part of the Vrije Kruising Dijksgracht project. Spanning 15.5 meters and bridging a height difference of 6 meters, this concrete structure creates a seamless transition to higher ground. The stair consists of eight prefab elements – six stair segments and three landings – carefully designed for a safe and comfortable passage. A smart solution that enhances accessibility while blending effortlessly into its surroundings.

Thanks to precise planning and execution by Molhoek CCT and Strukton Civiel, commissioned by ProRail, the stair was installed quickly and efficiently, minimizing disruption to the area. The prefab construction method ensured a smooth assembly, adding yet another practical and sustainable connection to the city. This project demonstrates how functionality and design can come together to enhance urban spaces. A thoughtful solution that makes Amsterdam more accessible.
