3D printed staircase at Vispassage
At the Weidepad in Linschoten, a unique 3D-printed free-standing staircase has recently been installed at the fish passage. This 1.2-meter-high staircase was commissioned by the De Stichtse Rijnlanden Water Authority and installed by De Kuiper Infrabouw. The staircase was designed by the contractor and approved by the water authority. It provides safe and easy access to the fish passage. Thanks to 3D concrete printing technology, the staircase has a shape and appearance that blends seamlessly into its surroundings.
Using 3D concrete printing offers many advantages. The staircase was custom-designed for this specific location without the need for complex formwork. This made the process both faster and more sustainable. In addition, this method of construction results in lower CO₂ emissions.
With this staircase, we demonstrate that 3D concrete printing not only offers smart solutions but can also be a valuable and attractive addition to outdoor spaces. Curious about what 3D printing technology can do for your project? We’d be happy to explore the possibilities with you!
